I'm reading Essential Captain America Volume 1 and this cover for Tales of Suspense really stuck out because both villains on the cover are Asian. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but it seems a little odd that both heroes in two completely different storylines are fighting against Asian villains. Cap has to fight against The General, a Viet Cong leader who has managed to attain that rank simply by sumo wrestling.
That got me thinking....there were plenty of Asian villains but who was the first Asian superhero from Marvel and DC? Honestly, I have no idea. And just off the top of my head, I can't name ANY DC or Marvel heroes that are of Asian descent...
The notable thing about the Cap story is that he goes to Vietnam and has to fight against the Viet Cong, which would NEVER happen in the DC comics of that era. Superman would have been playing with Supercat, Superhorse, or dealing with the effects of pink kryptonite.
