The New 52 Early Losers

Well, it looks like we already have some early losers in the New 52. Went to my local comic store today and all the New 52 comics were gone except for these four titles: Static Shock, Men at War, Omac, and Hawk and Dove. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the first to get cancelled.

Men at War looks like a comic book based on Call of Duty and the colors in the book make you wonder "What Can Brown Do For Me?" It just looked a little too drab and boring.

Static Shock seems to be a blatant attempt to bring in  African American readers, and I have no fault with that, but can we at least have a COOL African American hero?

Hawk and Dove are two of the most boring characters in the DC Universe, although I did purchase this one digitally, so I'll have to post a review later.

As for Omac, it looked kinda interesting but Keith Giffen and Scott Koblish are so slavishly imitating Jack Kirby that I don't see how anything new can be done with that book. Homage is one thing, but flat-out imitation is dull.

I was really surprised that there were no copies of Bat Wing at the store since it looked just as dumb as Static Shock, but I guess that shows the power of the word "Bat" in the DC Universe. I want a Bat-Mite comic!!

I wouldn't be shocked if all four of these books were dead within the next couple of months, and I bet Bat Wing will join their ranks as well.
